Happy Sunday 2nd grade crew families, What a fun and busy week we had in grade 2!!! Thank you again to all the families for the pumpkin donations as well to those of you who were able to attend our pumpkin investigation in class on Wednesday! Important upcoming reminders: November 7th is our remembrance day assembly at 10:00 am. November 8th System Indigenous PD Day (no school for students). November 11th Remembrance Day (no school for staff or students). November 12th-13th  Fall break. A highlight at school this week was our pumpkin investigation. Our learning intentions in Science were: Matter and Energy I can describe the properties of a  pumpkin , like its size, shape, color, and texture. I can compare the weight and size of different  pumpkin s to see how they are the same and different. I can make predictions about whether a  pumpkin  will sink or float and then test it in water. Happy Sunday families, Thank you for everyone who took the time to connect with me during parent conferences this week it was so great to catch up and share all the amazing things your children are doing in Grade 2!  Reminder this week at school Thursday is Halloween and students are invited to wear their costumes to school that day. A highlight from our week together this week was learning about number quantities up to 1000. In math our learning intentions were:  I can c ount to 1000 by 1s, 2s, and 10s starting at different values and by 20, 25, and 50 from 0. (Grade 2 Math) Foundation of counting *In addition to the 100-chart, base ten blocks and mats are a tool we use frequently when practicing our counting skills and solving problems.  Happy Sunday grade two families, What a fun week we had at school this week! Thank you to the families who have booked their conference time with me. Good evening families, I hope you have all had a wonderful Thanksgiving long weekend, and enjoyed some quality time together with your families! Here are some highlights of our week together; Learning Intentions: Art (Thanksgiving cards). I can use shapes in art. I can create texture in art. I can create my own designs. I can draw using different tools, pencils, pencil crayons, and sharpies.

What an amazing short but busy week we had in Grade 2. Firstly thank you to all the families for their generous donations to our Terry Fox event at Andrew Sibbald we are so lucky here to have so many amazing families in our community!

Hello Families, We have had another learning-filled week at Andrew Sibbald School in our Grade 2 classroom. This week at school students were invited to wear Orange for Orange Shirt Day on Thursday for our day of honouring Truth and Reconciliation week at school. Our Learning Intentions for the week were; I can appreciate multiple points of view, languages, cultures, and experiences within groups and communities. (Grade 2 Social Studies) I can reflect of healthy relationships with one another, my community, and with nature.  (Grade 2 Wellness) I can express the benefits of different cultural communities keeping their identity and creating a sense of belonging.
