Happy Sunday grade two families,
What a fun week we had at school this week! Thank you to the families who have booked their conference time with me. I look forward to connecting with you all on Thursday and Friday! Also a huge thank you to the parents for organizing our first fun lunch and of course the Halloween dance, the students loved this!
Some of our highlights this week were;
We had our first walking field trip to Fish Creek park as well as took some time outside in our learning grounds to do some learning in our sit spots!
Our learning intentions for the week were;
Understanding Seasonal Changes
I can observe how the weather changes in the fall (e.g., cooler temperatures, shorter days).
I can explain how fall weather affects plants, animals, and people.
I can observe and describe how trees and plants change in the fall (e.g., leaves changing colour, leaves falling, seeds dropping).
Exploring Changes in Temperature
I can measure and compare morning and afternoon temperatures during the fall.
I can describe how cooler temperatures affect living things, like people, plants, and animals.
Hands-on Exploration in Nature
I can explore different natural objects, like leaves, seeds, and rocks, and describe how they change in the fall.
I can use my senses (sight, touch, smell) to observe changes in nature during the fall season.
Environmental Awareness
I can take care of the environment while exploring nature in the fall by not disturbing plants and animals.
I can explain the importance of protecting natural habitats during the fall season.
Important reminder there is no school this Friday as it is conferences as well as on Thursday it is photo re-takes.
