Good evening families,

I hope you have all had a wonderful Thanksgiving long weekend, and enjoyed some quality time together with your families! Here are some highlights of our week together;

Learning Intentions:

Art (Thanksgiving cards).

I can use shapes in art.

I can create texture in art.

I can create my own designs.

I can draw using different tools, pencils, pencil crayons, and sharpies.

Literacy/Social Studies (Im thankful for...) (4 square visual journal draw and label).

I can identify traditions and celebration in the communities that connect people.

I understand how communities are strengthened by their stories traditions and history.

I can create written messages (informational).

I can organize sentences in a logical sequence to create written messages.

I can use upper case and lower case letters.

I can use finger spaces and periods.

In Science (Salty Sounds and Tuning Fork in Water experiments).

I can identify sources of sound and I understand that sound is made by vibrations of objects.

We are scientists in grade 2! As part of our learning, we did two experiments this week and, like all good scientists, we made predictions and recorded our observations. In our Salty Sounds experiment, we used sound waves from tuning forks to move salt! In our Tuning Forks in Water experiment, students explored what sound waves do to water!

Reminder Conference bookings open Tuesday morning, and Friday we will be doing a walking field trip to Fish creek, more information to follow!

See you all on Tuesday morning friends!

Ms. Craik
