Happy Sunday families,
I hope you have all had a wonderful 3 day weekend. We are excited for our basketball residency this week with Mr. Wilder (Coach Dave). Also huge thank you to the parent volunteers who have signed up to help with this residency.
Our learning intentions for this week at school around Pink Shirt day were:
Health and Wellness
- I can explain what bullying is and how it affects people.
- I can describe ways to be kind and include others.
- I can use kind words and actions to help others feel safe and respected.
- I can stand up for myself and others in a respectful way.
- I can explain why it is important to treat others with fairness and respect.
- I can describe ways to build a caring and welcoming community.
- I can identify ways to solve conflicts peacefully.
- I can recognize how my actions affect others.
- I can celebrate differences and appreciate what makes everyone unique.
- I can listen to others and share my ideas about kindness and respect.
- I can write or draw about how I can make my school a kinder place.
- I ca tell a story about a time I showed kindness to someone.
- I can create a t-shirt to encourage kindness and stop bullying.
- I can read and discuss stories that teach kindness and empathy.
Juno Award Nominee, Mary Lambert, is a family singer/songwriter/performer, author, and outstanding Canadian artist in the children's entertainment field. Her two Juno nominations and fifteen awards from the United States (Parents' Choice Award Winner, iParenting Award Winner, Preferred Choice Award Winner, Tillywig Best Family Fun Award, and Dr. Toy, Best Children's Vacation Product Award Winner) are a remarkable testimony to her talent and artistry. Her wonderful voice and colourful performances are filled with infectious music, sheer energy and lots of audience participation. Since 1993, Mary has toured and performed well over 3,700 shows at elementary schools, libraries, daycares, music festivals and family focused events throughout Canada. Mary Lambert Productions has released 11 solo CDs, and two live concert DVDs and two children's books.
