Hoppy Easter 2nd grade crew families,

I hope you all are enjoying a lovely long weekend together, and a very Happy Easter to you all! Wow, I am still thinking about the students and how well they all did for our Spring Equinox Celebration of Learning, so incredibly proud of their efforts!

We had very busy week this week in Grade 2 some of our highlights were preparing for our Spring assembly, talking about The Great Pacific Garbage Patch, Earth Day and Easter and our own family traditions.

Some of our learning intentions for this week were:

In Science:

  • I can explain how plants, animals, and people are connected to the Earth.
  • I can talk about ways to take care of the Earth in spring.
  • I can share how the seasons affect living things.
In ELA
  • I can speak clearly and confidently to an audience.
  • I can listen respectfully when others are speaking.
  • I can use my voice to help tell a message.
  • I can share information and ideas about Earth care and the Spring Equinox.
In Art

  • I can create art to help share our Earth day essage.
  • I can use colours, shapes, and textures that show signs of spring.
  • I can work with others to create a display.
In Wellness
  • I can show respect for nature and the world around me.
  • I can work as a team or group to share an important message.
  • I can be a role model for others by showing how to care for the Earth.

Also HUGE thank you again to our amazing parents who helped put this on for us on Monday this week, we truly are very spoiled by you all! and appreciate all you do for us!!!!!

Just a reminder that tomorrow is a PD DAY, so we will see you all on Tuesday morning friends.

Ms. Craik
