Happy Spring Break families!
It was wonderful to connect with you all during our conferences this week. I sure am proud of how far the kiddos have come along since the beginning of the year. Wishing you all a lovely break with your families and hope you get to spend sometime together doing the things you love to do.
Some of our highlights this week were in Science and ELAL talking about Spring. Our learning intentions for this were:
Science:
- I can describe how the weather changes in the spring.
- I can explain how plants and animals change as the season change.
- I can describe how the weather changes in the spring.
- I can explain how plants and animals change as the seasons change.
- i can observe and record signs of spring in my environment.
- I can explain how people, animals, and plants depend on each other in spring.
ELAL
- I can read and understand books about spring.
- I can write a story about spring.
- I can share ideas and change in spring.
- I can ask and answer questions about spring-related topics.
- I can create a story using loose parts.
Students were given loose parts after listening to the story Up in the garden and down in the dirt to create a story in their journals. Students used their background knowledge of plants, animals and insects to tell a story.
"I can take my jacket off now."
"We can skip rope outside."
"The ground is muddy and the snow is melting, everything is brown."
"I get to wear rain boots."
