Good evening families,
I hope you have all had a cozy weekend enjoying the spring snow. Thank you to the parents who have booked their online conferences already and to those who have reached out regarding them and being away.
This week at school we had a busy week together. A couple of our highlights together was our Glass residency with Anna and building Leprechaun traps in Science.
Our learning intentions for Passion for Glass residency (Art, Math and Science). Our students were asked to plan and design an art piece with the focus of Spring in mind.
Reflections
- I can observe and describe different glass artworks, noting colours, shapes and patterns.
- I can express my feelings and thoughts about glass art pieces.
Depiction:
- I can create my own glass art designs using various colours and shapes.
- I can use shapes to represent my ideas in glass art.
Composition:
- I can organize colours, shapes, and patterns to create a balanced glass artwork.
- I can plan and create a glass art piece that tells a story or shows an idea.
Expression:
- I can share my glass art with others and talk about my creative choices.
- I can explore and experiment with glass materials to express my ideas and emotions.
Design
- I can brainstorm and sketch ideas for a leprechaun trap, considering the materials and tools I have.
- I can select appropriate materials to construct my trap, understanding their properties and suitability.
- I can build a leprechaun trap following my design plan, ensuring it is stable and functional.
Problem-Solving and Collaboration
- I can work collaboratively with my peers to share ideas and build our leprechaun trap.
- I can test my trap and identify any issues that arise during building.
- I can propose solutions to improve my trap based on observation and feedback.
See you Monday morning friends,
Ms. Craik
