Happy Sunday families,
I hope you all have had a lovely weekend. What an exciting week we had together! We kept ourselves very busy during multiple blue days, and were VERY excited to have our guest visitor Mr. Jeff Stockton join us at Andrew Sibbald this week.
Our learning intentions for Mr. Stockton's story telling session for the week were:
English Language Arts (ELA):
Listening and Speaking:
- I can listen attentively to stories and share my thoughts about them.
 - I can retell a story I heard, including important details and events.
 - I can ask questions about a story to understand it better.

Reading and Comprehension:
- I can identify the main idea and key details in a story.
 - I can describe the characters, setting, and plot of a story.
 - I can make predictions about what might happen next in a story.

Writing:
- I can write my own short story with a clear beginning, middle, and end.
 - I can use descriptive words to make my writing more interesting.
 - I can revise my story to add more details or improve it.

Music and Performing Arts:
Music Appreciation:
- I can listen to music played on different instruments, like the Celtic harp, and describe how it makes me feel.
 - I can identify the sound of a harp and other instruments used in storytelling.

Personal Development:
- Empathy and Perspective:
- I can understand how characters in stories feel and why they act the way they do.

These statements aim to foster a deeper connection between storytelling and the curriculum, enhancing students' comprehension, and creativity.
