What a lovely full week we had together this week! Thank you again to all the families who have sent in donations for warm feet warm hearts. It has been amazing to see the students so excited about this school wide initiative. It has been inspiring to hear some of our students share how they have asked to do chores at home to earn the money to go and buy items themselves or have used their own spending money to help purchase items.

Winter Christmas Concert tickets went home this week. If you think your family is missing any please notify the office as soon as possible.

A highlight of our week this week was our Ringette unit in gym. Our learning intentions for the week were:

Movement Skills

  • I can move safely and quickly while holding a ringette stick.
  • I can practice passing and shooting the ring with accuracy.
  • I can improve my balance and coordination by stopping and turning during the game.
Teamwork and Collaboration
  • I can work with my teammates to pass the ring and score goals.
  • I can cheer for an encourage my classmates during the game.
Game Strategy and Problem-Solving
  • I can make decision about where to move to help my team.
  • I can follow the rules of ringette and play fairly.
Physical Literacy and Fitness.
  • I can keep my body moving to stay active during the game.
  • I can keep my heart beating faster and know I am building my fitness.

"The Magic of Ringette"  is a book that introduces young readers to the thrill of ringette but also emphasizes the importance of friendship and determination.

I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend, see you on Monday!
