Happy Sunday Grade 2 Families,

What a busy short day and half that was.  It was great to see the kiddos, I sure did miss them!

Our learning intentions we focused on was in Math were:

I can recall and apply addition number facts, with addends to 10, and related subtraction number facts.
I can solve addition and subtraction word problems using numbers up to 100.
I can use pictures, objects, or a number line to solve addition and subtraction problems.
I can check my answer to make sure it makes sense in the word problem.
I can explain how I got my answer using pictures, words or numbers.
Grade 2 students have been working hard at learning about addition and subtraction. We know that being able to recall our basic addition and subtraction facts helps us as we move forward to solve bigger problems. 
In school, we incorporate practicing our basic facts in lots of different ways! We play games, do number talks and solve problems.

Good evening families, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Just a reminder that our in class talent show will be this coming Monday in the afternoon. We were super excited to have seen the mural finally come to LIFE in our gymnasium. Good evening families I hope this weekend has been wonderful for you all. Wishing all the Mom's a very happy Mother's day, I hope you found some time this weekend to enjoy some time for you! Thank you again to all the volunteers who were able to join us this week at the Zoo. The students had an amazing day! Our highlights for our week together was our field trip. We kept ourselves very busy during multiple blue days, and were VERY excited to have our guest visitor Mr. Jeff Stockton join us at Andrew Sibbald this week.
