Happy Sunday families, I hope you have all had a wonderful 3 day weekend. We are excited for our basketball residency this week with Mr. Wilder (Coach Dave). Also huge thank you to the parent volunteers who have signed up to help with this residency.  Our learning intentions for this week at school around Pink Shirt day were: Health and Wellness I can explain what bullying is and how it affects people. I can describe ways to be kind and include others. I can use kind words and actions to help others feel safe and respected. I can stand up for myself and others in a respectful way. Social Studies (Community & Citizenship) I can explain why it is important to treat others with fairness and respect. I can describe ways to build a caring and welcoming community. Happy Sunday 2nd grade crew families, What an awesome week we had! Huge thank you again to the Andrew Sibbald Parent Association for providing our students with the Teachers Pet experience this week. We had so much fun!  Our learning intentions in Science for this were; Earth’s Landforms & Bodies of Water I can identify and describe different landforms in Alberta, like mountains, valleys, plains, and hills. I can recognize different bodies of water, such as rivers, lakes, and ponds, and explain their importance. I can describe how water moves and changes in nature (e.g., rivers flowing, ice melting, rain falling). I can explain how land and water support plants, animals, and people. I can investigate how landforms and bodies of water shape where people and animals live. Earth’s Relationship to the Sun I can describe how the Sun provides light and heat to Earth.
