Good evening families, Sorry for the later blog post we experienced some techical issues in my area last night. Huge thank you to all the families this last week for arranging a time to come and chat with me about your son or daughter it was awesome to connect with you all. During our Social Studies unit and through our literacy tasks we have been building our understanding of "Belonging". Specifically,, we have looked at one special community that we belong to, our Family. Through reading stories, classroom discussions, and sharing circles, grade ones have added to their understanding of our family community.  Some of our learning intentions for last week were focused on Social studies. Farewell for the Year: A Note to Our Grade 2 Families, As we wrap up this school year, I want to take a moment to say thank you for sharing your wonderful children with me. It has truly been a joy and privilege to watch them grow, learn, and shine in Grade 2. This year was especially meaningful as we continued exploring the new Alberta curriculum , with its focus on building strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, nurturing curiosity, and developing critical thinking skills. I’m so proud of how our students took on new challenges — from understanding number relationships to writing with purpose, exploring patterns in the world, and asking thoughtful questions about their community. Beyond academics, our classroom was a place where students practiced kindness, cooperation, and resilience every day. Happy last full week of school 2nd grade crew families, Thank you again to the Parents who continue to spoil us with treats, it was lovely to start a Monday with some yummy snacks, we are truly very lucky here at Andrew Sibbald School! We have had so many exciting things happening in Grade 2 and at our school. This week the students had a great time at the Pancake breakfast and our sports day with our buddies. Huge thank you to again for the Grade 5's for organizing such a fun afternoon, and the parent committee for providing us all with a freeze.
